On the right hand side of the page you can see that I have made a quick analysis on the front cover of NME.
Masthead: The mastheasd of a magazine is the logo/ title of the magazine. It is normally in the top left hand side of the magazine.
Main Sell Line: The main sell line for a magazine tells the audience what the issue is going to be about. For example in this issue of NME the audience can see that the issue is about Oasis.
Sub-Heads: The sub-heads give the audience a little more information on what the issue will be about. For example in this issue the sub-head is "your questions, their answers", this will tell the audience that the band will be taking questions from the public and answering them.
Main Image: The main image of a magazine shows the audience on what the issue is about. Normally the audience will look at the image first and be able to see what the band features in the weeks issue.
Sell lines: Sell lines are when the magazine shows what else will feature in the issue. The sell lines are normally to the side or underneath the main sell line.
Essential Info: The essential info of a magazine is when it shows the audience things like the issue number and what date the magazine was realised on.
